CARNIVAL MASQUERADER TERMS & CONDITIONS

Tampa Bay Caribbean Carnival

By registering with Opulence Mas, purchasing a costume, or participating in any Opulence Mas carnival-related activities, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the following Terms and Conditions.

1. REGISTRATION & PARTICIPATION

All masqueraders must complete the required registration process and provide accurate personal information.

Registration is considered confirmed once the required deposit or full payment has been received.

Masqueraders must be 18 years or older to register independently. Participants under 18 must have written consent and authorization from a parent or legal guardian.

Registration is personal and non-transferable unless expressly approved by Opulence Mas.

Opulence Mas reserves the right to refuse or cancel participation for failure to comply with these Terms and Conditions.

2. PAYMENTS & REFUND POLICY

All payments made to Opulence Mas are STRICTLY NONREFUNDABLE AND NONTRANSFERABLE, except where required by applicable law.

Costumes are custom-made and ordered specifically for each masquerader.

A deposit must be submitted within 72 hours of placing an order to secure the costume. Orders without a deposit within this timeframe may be considered void and released without further notice.

Masqueraders are responsible for ensuring that all payments are made by the established deadlines.

Failure to complete payment by the designated deadline may result in delayed costume production, forfeiture of costume availability, or cancellation of participation.

Payment plans, when offered, must be followed according to the agreed payment schedule.

Outstanding balances must be paid in full before costume collection or participation in the parade.

Any applicable late fees will be communicated to the masquerader.

3. COSTUME ORDERS & CUSTOMIZATION

All costumes are made to order.

Costume designs, colors, embellishments, and materials may vary slightly due to availability, production requirements, and supplier substitutions.

Opulence Mas reserves the right to make reasonable adjustments to costume designs while maintaining the overall appearance and quality of the selected design.

Costume selections are subject to availability.

Once production has commenced, changes to costume selections, sizes, or design specifications may not be accommodated.

Additional costume pieces, upgrades, feathers, accessories, and J'ouvert add-ons are the financial responsibility of the masquerader unless otherwise stated in writing.

Masqueraders are responsible for carefully reviewing their costume selections before submitting their orders.

4. COSTUME SIZING & FITTING

Masqueraders are responsible for providing accurate measurements and sizing information.

Incorrect measurements submitted by the masquerader are not the responsibility of Opulence Mas.

Custom costumes may not fit exactly like standard retail clothing.

Minor adjustments may be necessary.

Any alteration costs not expressly included in the costume package will be the responsibility of the masquerader.

Opulence Mas is not responsible for dissatisfaction resulting from inaccurate measurements supplied by the participant.

5. COSTUME PICKUP & COLLECTION

Costume pickup arrangements will be communicated closer to Carnival.

Pickup appointments must be scheduled in advance to ensure availability.

The specific pickup address will only be provided once a pickup time has been confirmed.

The general pickup area is Tampa, Florida.

Masqueraders are responsible for collecting their costumes within the communicated pickup period.

Failure to collect a costume within the designated timeframe does not automatically entitle the masquerader to a refund.

Masqueraders must inspect their costumes upon collection and report any concerns immediately.

6. CARNIVAL DAY PARTICIPATION

Masqueraders are expected to arrive at the designated meeting location at the assigned time.

Participants must follow all instructions provided by Opulence Mas management, security, and event organizers.

Masqueraders must wear their assigned costumes and approved accessories during the parade.

Participants are responsible for their personal belongings throughout the event.

Opulence Mas is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items.

Masqueraders must behave respectfully toward fellow participants, staff, event organizers, spectators, and members of the public.

Participants must comply with all applicable Carnival rules, parade regulations, and local laws.

7. SAFETY & PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

Carnival participation involves physical activity, dancing, walking, crowds, outdoor conditions, and potential exposure to heat and weather.

Masqueraders acknowledge the physical demands associated with participating in Carnival activities.

Participants are responsible for assessing their ability to participate safely.

Masqueraders must exercise caution when wearing costumes, feathers, accessories, and other decorative pieces.

Participants must immediately notify Opulence Mas personnel of any safety concerns, injuries, or emergencies.

Opulence Mas will not be responsible for injuries, accidents, or losses to the extent permitted by applicable law, except where caused by negligence or other conduct for which liability cannot legally be excluded.

Participants agree to follow all safety instructions issued by authorized personnel.

8. CONDUCT & CODE OF BEHAVIOR

Opulence Mas is committed to providing a luxurious, enjoyable, and respectful Carnival experience.

All masqueraders are expected to:

Treat other masqueraders, staff, vendors, and event personnel with respect.

Refrain from fighting, harassment, bullying, discrimination, threatening behavior, or inappropriate conduct.

Follow instructions from band leaders and designated representatives.

Avoid behavior that may damage the reputation of Opulence Mas.

Refrain from bringing prohibited items into restricted event areas.

Respect other participants' costumes, personal space, and belongings.

Opulence Mas reserves the right to remove any participant whose conduct creates a safety concern, disrupts the event, or violates these Terms and Conditions, subject to applicable law.

No refund will be issued for removal resulting from a participant's misconduct, except where required by law.

9. PHOTOGRAPHY, VIDEOGRAPHY & MEDIA RELEASE

By participating in Opulence Mas activities, masqueraders acknowledge that photography and videography may take place during Carnival-related events.

Opulence Mas may use event photographs and videos for promotional, marketing, advertising, and social media purposes, subject to applicable law.

Masqueraders grant Opulence Mas permission to use their images and likeness for these purposes without additional compensation, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Photos and videos supplied directly to models or masqueraders by Opulence Mas may not be posted, distributed, or shared before receiving authorization from Opulence Mas.

Participants must respect the privacy and image rights of other masqueraders.

10. EVENT CHANGES & CANCELLATIONS

Opulence Mas reserves the right to make reasonable changes to schedules, meeting locations, costume arrangements, and event-related activities when necessary.

Carnival events are subject to weather conditions, public safety requirements, venue restrictions, government regulations, and decisions made by event organizers.

Opulence Mas is not responsible for changes or cancellations made by third-party event organizers or authorities.

In the event of circumstances beyond Opulence Mas's reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, government restrictions, or other unforeseen events, Opulence Mas will communicate relevant updates and applicable arrangements.

Any refund, credit, or alternative arrangement will be handled in accordance with applicable law and the specific circumstances.

11. J'OUVERT & ADDITIONAL EVENTS

Participation in J'ouvert, concerts, parties, and other Carnival-related activities is subject to the specific package purchased.

Masqueraders are responsible for reviewing what is included in their selected package.

Additional activities, accessories, food, beverages, transportation, or upgrades are not included unless expressly stated.

Participants must follow the rules and safety requirements of each event venue and organizer.

Opulence Mas is not responsible for services or activities provided independently by third-party vendors.

12. PERSONAL BELONGINGS & COSTUME CARE

Masqueraders are responsible for their costumes and accessories once collected.

Proper care and handling of costumes are strongly encouraged.

Opulence Mas is not responsible for damage resulting from improper handling, storage, washing, alterations, or misuse after collection.

Participants should avoid exposing costumes to substances or conditions that may cause damage.

Lost or damaged costume pieces may not be replaceable, and replacement costs will be the responsibility of the masquerader.

13. COMMUNICATION & CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES

Masqueraders are responsible for monitoring the email address and telephone number provided during registration.

Important updates, payment reminders, pickup arrangements, and event instructions may be communicated electronically.

Participants must notify Opulence Mas of any changes to their contact information.

Failure to receive or review communications due to incorrect contact information does not automatically excuse compliance with payment deadlines or event requirements.

14. ACKNOWLEDGMENT & AGREEMENT

By completing registration, making a payment, or participating in any Opulence Mas Carnival activities, I acknowledge that:

I have read and understood these Terms and Conditions.

I understand that all payments are nonrefundable and nontransferable, subject to applicable law.

I understand that my costume is made to order.

I agree to provide accurate registration and sizing information.

I agree to follow all Carnival rules, safety requirements, and instructions from Opulence Mas management.

I understand the risks associated with participating in Carnival activities.

I agree to conduct myself respectfully and responsibly.

I understand that failure to comply with these Terms and Conditions may result in removal from participation.
